International Summer School Special

ISS

Tune in to Radio LaB on Monday at 10am to hear the International Summer School special on Radio LaB. Recorded in July 2017, the programme is presented by 19 different international students, who are practising their English speaking as part of the University of Bedfordshire Language Centre’s ‘Summer School’.

Radio LaB Coordinator Terry Lee said: “The radio station is always happy to work with students from across University departments on small projects like this. It was great to spend some time with these students – they were so brave to practise their English using the radio. I hope that for some it was the confidence boost they needed to show them their English is better than they think.”

LSFC Takeover 2017

Tune in to Radio LaB 97.1FM this week (26th – 30th June 2017) and you’ll hear Luton Sixth Form College students on the air.

For the fifth year running, sixth formers are taking over the airwaves of the University of Bedfordshire’s community radio station.

From 8am to 4pm, each hour-long show will have a different presenter or presentation team and include a range of music, features and chat – all broadcast live.

Luton Sixth Form College radio teacher Andy Waterfield said: “It’s great to be invited back to Radio LaB for the fifth year running – it’s such a great experience for our students.

“This year we’ve got a mix of students from the BTEC radio and also TV and film courses, who are using it as an extension to their studies to stretch and challenge themselves.”
