Radio LaB win Bronze!

SRAawardsThe University of Bedfordshire’s community radio station Radio LaB has won ‘bronze’ this year’s Student Radio Awards, which took place on Thursday 10th November 2016.

Media Performance graduate Kyle Bennett won the accolade in the ‘Best Interview’ category.

Before the awards ceremony, Kyle said: “To be in with a chance of winning a national award is absolutely crazy and I still can’t believe it.”

Kyle’s interview was with a detective constable from the London Metropolitan Police, about the relationship between young people and the police in London.

“When I recorded this interview for my special project, I never thought it would lead to this.  I want to thank everyone who has helped push and support me throughout my education.”

Radio LaB Coordinator Terry Lee said: “Kyle’s achievement is something we’re very proud of here at Radio LaB. I really hope this news inspires some of our current radio students to aim for similar national recognition. Kyle is a great guy and all the radio team here at the University wish him every success in the future.”

University of Bedfordshire Media Production graduate, and one of last year’s Radio LaB managers, Luke Gregory was also shortlisted for an award at the ceremony, ‘Best Male Presenter’.
